The Earth Port Film Festival announces a video competition: “The Merrimack River — Our Lifeline”

Water is Life. The health and well-being of our ecosystem depends on the health and well-being of the Merrimack River. The river has been identified as one of the most endangered rivers in the U.S. In recognition of the importance of the river and the threats it faces, the festival has created a special category for videos of 2 minutes or less exploring the theme: “The Merrimack River — Our Lifeline”

Entry requirements for the competition are that the video be

  •  no more than 2 minutes in length,
  • any genre (music video, animation, documentary, experimental, etc …), and
  • submitted for consideration via the online platform FilmFreeway ( ) by March 23.

To submit to FilmFreeway: create an account, upload your project, search both open and closed festivals to find Earth Port Film Festival, submit your project.

Cost of submission is $5 per video and proceeds from the competition will be donated to the Merrimack River Watershed Council. The mission of the MRWC is to protect, improve and conserve the Merrimack River watershed for people and wildlife through education, recreation, advocacy and science

Winners of the competition will be screened at the 2018 Earth Port Film Festival. All submissions will be broadcast on PortMedia and will be made available to other community access stations in Merrimack River Valley communities.
